Lucky Seven

Dave's always been #7 on speed dial on my phone.  He was offended once and asked why he was #7 and not #1 or #2 and I told him I'm lucky to have you in my life so you've always been my Lucky Seven on my phone.  Tomorrow is the official day we celebrate our 7th Anniversary and I couldn't be more happy or more in love!  Every day gets better and better with you Dave!!  Thanks for always putting a smile on my face :)

He escaped!

Well, this is a first for us because Alex never escaped, but Seanie climbed out of his crib on Saturday.  We didn't hear a peep from him until he surprised Dave downstairs with a big "Hi Daddy" during his naptime.  Saturday night went okay in the crib but Sunday morning we woke up with him knocking at his bedroom door because he climbed out of his crib and couldn't get his bedroom door open.  He climbed out once during his nap today and just now, I heard him rattling the door knob so I just put him down again.  That little stinker barely makes a sound!  I asked him how he climbed out and he was more than willing to show me.  We have a small dresser next to his bed which he used at first but I've since moved that out of his reach and he can still climb out.  So, looks like a big boy bed is in our very near future for him.  I'm not sure I'm ready for that!

I'm free!  I'm free!

He's become quite the climber these days!
I took Seanie for a haircut on Friday and he did SO well.  He's sat on my lap in the past and it usually starts with some tears.  But this time, he was smitten by a little 3 year old girl that was watching him and he sat perfectly in the chair all by himself.  When it came time to shave his neck, Seanie was so ticklish that he was cracking up in the chair.  It was hilarious!  I was so proud of him and he looks like such a big boy with his new haircut!

Lookin' good Sean Man!
Alex made it to 19 games this season!

How cute is this?!

Happy Birthday, Mark!

We celebrated Uncle Mark's birthday tonight a little early as he turns 15 years old on Tuesday!  It's hard to believe Dave was a senior in high school when he was born and I've known him since he was 3 years old.  Alex and Sean absolutely adore their uncle!  Mark is so patient, kind and loving with them too.  Have fun as a freshman at Tosa East and good luck on JV Volleyball!  We are so proud of you!!!
Happy birthday to Uncle Mark!

Alex was teasing GG all night and she finally caught him!

So Alex officially finished a full week of 4K and he is loving it and doing great!  We've already gotten a stellar report from the After School program that he attends and the women there said he is the best behaved kid that they have and they wish they could clone him!  I don't care if they say that to all the parents, that made me proud:)  It's so exciting to hear all about Alex's day when he gets home and to hear about all the new friends he has made.
Alex's first book report!  Way to go!!

Seanie is adjusting well too after returning to Miss Lisa's daycare.  Both boys love it at Miss Lisa's and they feel right at home with her so I am happy about that.  Seanie's a little more clingy when I drop him off when Alex isn't staying with him but when Dave picks him up after school, he never wants to leave so we know he is having fun and keeping busy.  Sean's been really interested in reading books lately so we read every night before bed.  His favorite book right now is "Daddy and Me" because he has to lift up some flaps to see the pictures.

Wrigleyville

Dave had been looking forward to taking Alex to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field for some time now and it finally worked out this past weekend.  The Cubs were playing the Brewers to it was a Father/Son rivalry game!  One of the hotdog vendors saw Alex's Brewers shirt and said to him, "Uh-oh, who do you want to win?"  Alex got nervous and said the Cubs since he was surrounded by all the fans but then turned to Dave and said, "My mouth said the Cubs but my heart says the Brewers!"  Too cute!!  They had a wonderful time and Alex loved looking at all the tall buildings in Chicago.

Seanie was sad he couldn't go...Next year Buddy!

Alex's first Cubs game at Wrigley Field!

Cool view!

You could even see them on TV :)
It was Sunday Funday today and we just hung around the house and played all day.  We went to Grandpa & Grandma Beyer's house on Friday to celebrate Grandparents Day.  Together with the Grandpa & Grandma Michna, Alex and Sean are two of the luckiest boys in the world.  Thank you for being a huge part of our lives and for loving us unconditionally and for spoiling us rotten:)  We love you to pieces!!

Love my boys!

Look who found a pair of undies to wear :)
Batter up!

"Baby's Truck," as Sean refers to it, goes everywhere with him!

Apparently the only picture I captured was the silly pose :)

Alex's First Day of 4K!

We talked about it all summer and the day finally came...Alex's first day of school.  He was super excited for it and I wasn't worried a bit about him fitting right in with his social personality.  I'm not gonna lie though, I had a hard time with it as his Mom.  My little boy is all grown up and taking on more responsibility and independence. You worry as parent that he makes good friends and he eats right and he behaves and he enjoys himself at school.  You're not by his side every step of the way anymore protecting him and making sure he doesn't get hurt.  You're suddenly forced to let him grow up a little bit on his own and hope he makes good choices that you've taught him at home.  Yes, I realize he is only four years old and not leaving for college yet but I still worry as his Mom!

He did great today at his first day of 4K at Holy Apostles Catholic School.  He told me all about his day and the friends he made.  The kids went to gym class and played "toilet tag" so that seemed to be a highlight.  He ate a good lunch which I was happy about.  They read books, sang songs and colored pictures.  I think he's going to have a shining year!

First day of preschool!

Waiting for Mrs. Borgh to greet us!

I have been looking forward to having a date with my Seanie for awhile.  I had him all to myself today while Alex was at school and that doesn't happen often.  It was nice to have that one-on-one time and just focus on my lil' man.  We had a fun-packed day which started at Dunkin' Donuts.  Then we played at Kids in Motion which was new to Sean.  He loved it, especially the dump truck room and the grocery cart.  We went for a walk and played outside and before we knew it, it was time to pick up Alex from school.

Sprinkles please!

Lovin' the dump trucks!

I'm pretty sure nothing else was going to fit in our cart!

My two-year-old ball of fun!

I love my Seanie man!

What a lil' goof ball!

We had a busy Labor Day weekend but had a great time with our families.  We went to Grandpa & Grandma Michna's house on Saturday and Uncle Paul and Aunt Pat's house on Sunday for a cookout.  Uncle Paul weathered the storm to grill our chicken and Alex and Seanie had a blast with cousins, Noah and Jude.  On Tuesday, Grandma Beyer spent the day at the Zoo with us.  What a fun way to end summer!
