Updates...

Baby Update:  We had another checkup today with the doctor and everything looks good with the baby. Heartbeat was 140 and the baby was very active during the appointment.

This past week, I started to feel flutters from the baby. Even though this is the second pregnancy, it's equally exciting for me. I am like any other expectant mom and worry all the time. I worry I am eating enough healthy and nutritious foods for my baby. I worry I am drinking enough water all day long and not drinking too much caffeine even though I LOVE my coffee! I worry I am not lifting too much or straining my body, especially with a toddler running around and weighing almost 30 lbs. I worry everytime I feel an unusual cramp or pain and I question why I might feel nauseous some days, especially if I hadn't experienced any of this with my first pregnancy. I worry and pray that my baby will be born healthy.  So just to feel a small flutter from my baby is amazing in itself and reassures Momma that everything is okay. I'm excited for more kicks to come, especially when Daddy and big brother, Alex, will be able to feel the baby's movement too.

Alex Update:  He is always full of spunk and amazes us each and every day. He has been working on learning the ABCs and his numbers, as well as, colors. He can say each color but doesn't associate the word with the actual color yet. He still LOVES his cars. If he's not playing with his cars, then Daddy is usually chasing him around the house and tickling him.

Lately, Alex has befriended "Mikey," Dave's old cabbage patch doll from when he was a little boy. He's always talking about his "baby" and is SO gentle with him and gives him lots of hugs and kisses. He even shares his snacks and his sippy cup of milk with Mikey. The other day he wanted to see the container of wet wipes. So I brought it over to Alex and thought to myself, "this should be interesting." Sure enough, he took one out for his baby and started to wipe his belly button (not sure why the belly button). But it was still so darn cute. I think Alex is going to be Mommy's little helper come August with the new baby.

Wisconsin Dells

We took a family vacation to Wisconsin Dells for Valentine's Day weekend.  Our goal was to take a fun, mini-vacation to get away from our everyday winter routine for a weekend and we did just that.  We stayed at Mount Olympus where they had both an indoor water park and theme park for us.  Alex was at the perfect age to enjoy it all.  We had such a fun time together.  Everything was new to Alex and Dave & I enjoyed watching him smile all weekend long.  It was just what we needed and one of the best trips we've taken in a long time!

Goin' for a dip in the big pool with Mommy!

Taking a break from the water to warm up a bit.

Riding the dolphin at the theme park.  Alex also rode the tea cups and trolley with Mommy.  He's more of a dare-devil than his Daddy is!

Playing in the balls!

We got dippin' dots for Alex to try and he literally sat back in his chair, closed his eyes and opened his mouth nice and wide so we could shovel them in.  This sums up the weekend - Alex was treated like a King!

Skee-ball just his size.  Go for the 50s on top Alex!

Alex LOVED the baby slide!  I think we wore out the steps leading up to it!

Tryin' out the big slide with Daddy!  Weeeee!!

Happy Valentine's Day to my Sweethearts - Dave, Alex and Baby Michna:)

Haircut / Birthday / Snowfall

Alex was due for a haircut so we took him to a little place in Tosa called Whimsikidz which is a salon just for kids and perfect for toddlers.  Alex was a little squirmy at first so sat on Daddy's lap and played with fun toys to get him through it.  The stylist was great and gave my little boy a handsome new cut.

Snip, snip, snip...

What a handsome little boy!
We all went to Grandpa and Grandma Beyer's for pizza and cake to celebrate Papa's birthday last week.  The cousins were rambunctious as ever and we loved the entertainment all night!  I can't believe we'll be adding two more to the bunch this summer!  Nana is not so sure she can handle two more boys in the group as they seem to give her most of her scares with their endless amount of energy!  Miss Hailey is also praying for at least one girl to give her some boy relief!

I think Logan & Alex are going to be double-trouble someday!!

We had a beautiful, fluffy snowfall today and it was finally warm enough to bundle Alex up and take him outside to enjoy some fun in the snow. Santa brought him a new sled for Christmas and we hadn't even opened it until today. We were somewhat limited to the driveway since the snow was so high everywhere else that we sunk in up to our waist in some areas. Alex especially had fun when we brought out some of his summer toys which he has missed big time!

Faster Daddy!  I don't care if the snow is up to your knees!

King of the Mountain!

Alex has been eating oranges like crazy lately.  Except he usually just sucks a little juice out of each slice and then hands it over to me to finish eating.  Yesterday morning, we went through three oranges.  At least we're getting our Vitamin C!
What a silly boy!!  He cracks us up with the stunts he pulls!!

Baby Update / Random Pics

We had another doctor visit for the baby and everything checks out good once again.  The baby's heart beat was about 145 which might make one think a boy is on the way according to the old wives tale.  But I guess we will have to wait until August to see if that proves true!

Alex has been just as fun as ever, although battling a little cold at the moment.  It's amazing how much he learns in a day and his vocabulary keeps on building.  He's starting to learn his numbers.  He's got two and three down pat but he usually follows it up with a "go" and takes off somewhere.  He's been a pickier eater lately which has been frustrating but it doesn't look like the kid will fade away anytime soon so we're not too worried.  He's a ball of energy and loves to chase Daddy around the house and get into tickle wars with him.

Nice hair!
