Alex is getting stronger each day. He even gave Daddy a right-hook in the eye this morning. He likes to stick his tongue out and make silly faces at us. I think he's trying to get us back for all the silly faces we make at him! Besides that, just the usual cuddling, cooing and smiling. I'm trying to make the most of my time home with him as I head back to work next week. I'm sad to be away from my little boy but I know he's in good hands with Daddy.

Eighty Eight and Lookin' Great

My Grandma turned 88 years old yesterday and she looks better than ever. She has her own house and still drives, cooks, cleans, goes for walks, grocery shops, mows the lawn - there's not much she doesn't do on her own. She is very energetic and gets more done in a day than I get done in a whole week! I don't know how you do it, Grandma, but I think it's your secret to a long and healthy life. Happy Birthday!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! Dave couldn't have asked for a better first Father's Day with Alex. We're enjoying every moment we spend with our little boy. We made the rounds and visited both Grandpa Michna and Grandpa Beyer to wish them a special day too.

Alex's big day was today and he looked like a handsome little man in his baptismal tuxedo. Everyone came over to celebrate the joyous occasion. The weather cooperated and the day turned out to be beautiful! Congratulations, Alex! We love you!!

Doctor Visit

Alex had his one month checkup this afternoon. Everything looks good. He now weighs 9lbs and is 21 1/2 inches long. He had to get another shot in his thigh but he was a tough little guy and just cried for a minute. We've been doing tummy time a lot more and Alex has been flashing us his cute little smile more frequently. It's been so nice outside the last couple of days that we've been able to go for walks and both Alex & Mommy are loving the fresh air.

I can't believe it's been one month already since the anticipation of our baby boy. It's true what "they" say, time is flying by and we're enjoying every minute of it with our little guy. We are truly blessed to have Alex in our lives.

One More Birthday

My brother, Steve, turned...well, another year older today and ends our two week barrage of birthdays. My mom and dad make the same meal every year, by his request, which everyone has grown to love and look forward to and we always enjoy his favorite, pistachio torte, for dessert. Happy Birthday big brother! Hope you enjoyed your sundae at Oscars tonight!!

While trying out tummy time, Alex surprised us with rolling over from his tummy to his back. It took about 10 minutes to make the complete flip and we were rooting him on the entire time but he did it.
