Happy Anniversary!!!

We celebrated our 12th Wedding Anniversary (a week early) with a night of laughs at the Jim Gaffigan show last weekend. Laughter has always been a key ingredient to our relationship!  We had to stop for dinner at Waterstreet Brewery before the show which holds a special place in our heart.  It's where we had our first date!  Such a fun night with so many laughs!  The rest of the weekend was filled with soccer!!!  Wouldn't want it any other way!!!
Celebrating 12 years of love!

Early soccer game with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan!

Alex scored the first goal for his team and it was a rocket!

Representing #19 just like his Momma!

Seanie had to check out the beautiful trails :)
Such a pretty view!
Seanie's first time in goal and he was unstoppable!

I think he loved that he could dive the most!

He was a beast in goal!!!

These boys are like two peas in a pod!

He had to score a couple of goals too!
Facebook is such a great tool to have for working parents.  Holy Apostles does such a nice job of updating parents with pictures of every day happenings in each grade.  Sean's class studied a little about Monarch butterflies and they released some of them into the world last week.

On Friday, the entire school participated in the Charger Chase to raise money for their school.  Alex and Sean had a blast running through the obstacle course.  Such a fun day spent with classmates!

Letting the butterflies fly free!

Look at them go!

Soccer Season

Well, soccer is in full swing and I’m loving it!  Sean already had two games and he’s doing awesome.  He scored seven goals in his first game!  Alex had his first game over the weekend and played great!  He has to get used to playing on a gigantic field this year and build up his endurance!

The Milwaukee Kickers were invited to watch the men’s Marquette soccer team on Saturday.  The kids were able to walk out on the field with one of the starters and stand with them during the national anthem.  The boys also played a scrimmage game on the field at half-time which was neat.

It brought back all the amazing memories I had playing college soccer and playing on that same field.  What a special experience that was for me! I’m so grateful I was able to play a sport I loved so much at such a competitive level. Now I get the enjoyment of watching my kids excel and have fun at the sports they love!

Score some goals, Sean!

Enjoying the game :)

We were so incredibly lucky to sit in the second row behind home plate at the Brewers game last weekend.  The game looks a lot different in those seats, sitting so close.  Alex was in heaven and watching every move of every player.  Seanie says to me when he sits down, "I can get used to this!"  Plus, we were up close for the pre-game presentation of Sean's Heat coach, Gary Polczynski, getting inducted into the Old-Timers Hall of Fame at Miller Park.  Such a special day!

Sean and Coach Gary :)

Beautiful day for a ball game!

Not a bad view from 2nd row!!!

Alex was dialed in and watching everything!!!

Even 2nd row couldn't keep Sean's attention the whole game :)
We ended the weekend celebrating Grandparents Day at Steve and Jen's new house.  Even though it was in the 60s and the water wasn't too warm, the cousins had to go for a dip in the pool one last time before summer ends!  We are so thankful for both sets of Grandparents and all that they do for us!  They're the biggest fans cheering Alex and Sean on with all their different sports and they will drop everything to help out whenever we need.  Most of all, they love our boys unconditionally and have developed an incredible bond with one another!!!  We are beyond blessed :)
Happy Grandparents Day!!!

Major League Moment

Alex and Sean had the privilege to participate in the Major League Moment today at Miller Park. Both boys were nervous but beyond excited!  It was a once-in-a-lifetime, dream come true for these two baseball fans!!! Alex ran out to center field where he got to meet Lorenzo Cain.  Alex even bent down to feel the grass in the outfield!  Sean got to meet Christian Yelich in right field, who hit the game-winning RBI to win against the Cubs. They're still on cloud nine!  It was a day they will always remember!!!

Back to School

It was back-to-school for Alex and Sean last week.  Alex is now a 4th grader and Sean is in 1st grade.  It's crazy how fast these years fly by!  I think the boys were excited to start school and see their friends.  We had a fantastic summer and jam-packed a lot of fun activities in so I think we were all ready to change up the routine and get back to school.  It's going to be a great year for the boys!
Sean's excited to have his own locker this year!
Excited for school to start!
