Celebrating the Season

We are keeping busy with so many fun Christmas activities this time of year in preparing for Christmas.  It's hard to believe we are only a week away!  We hunted down the perfect Christmas tree last weekend and the boys helped hand ornaments.  We visited Santa on Saturday and the boys were excited to ask Santa for those special Christmas presents they hope he will bring.  The kids saw the Grinch movie with Grandma Beyer last weekend and loved it.  Dave and I had a fun night out at the annual Prime Christmas party and then the kids helped make Christmas cookies this afternoon.  A few more things to check off the list this week and I think we will be all set!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a big dose of family time over Thanksgiving weekend and we loved every second of it.  We celebrated Turkey Day with the Beyer side on Thanksgiving.  Two days later, we celebrated a second time on the Michna side and Uncle Mark was home from college!  We played an intense game of Apples to Apples where Alex beat me in the playoff round!  Then it was more family time on Sunday where we had the Trzesniewski Family Reunion at Badger Mutual.  So much fun and so many people to be thankful for!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Dave's Birthday in Chicago!

We celebrated Dave's birthday weekend down in Chicago to celebrate the kickoff to the Christmas season and watch the holiday parade down the Magnificent Mile with Annie, Reid and Grandma Michna.  It was a blast!  We ate at Giordano's and Alex tried his first real Chicago deep dish pizza.  We had some time to bum around the shops on Michigan Ave before the Christmas parade started.  What a great way to kick off the holiday season!!!
The kids loved Annie's cat, Ender :)
The pizza chef wowed the boys with his dough throwing skills!
So. Much. Cheese.

Of course the kids found a candy store while shopping!

Happy Halloween!

We had a busy weekend of Halloween festivities but it was an absolute blast.  We carved pumpkins and made some creative designs.  They turned out pretty cool!!!  Seanie was able to dress up at school and participate in the Halloween parade.  Alex had a Halloween party in his classroom and I was able to check in with both boys which was a lot of fun!
Ready to carve our pumpkins!
Checking out the "guts" of the pumpkin!

Concentrating on his design :)

I wonder which one is Dave's!!!

Silly friends :)
We celebrated some big birthdays too!  Our "cousin" Jack turned three years old.  He loves his Presidents so we celebrated in red, white and blue style!  Then it was time to celebrate with Tyler, turning nine years old!  That kid is all about his sports!  I love it!!!
It was a "Presidential" type of day!

Happy Birthday to Jack!

Happy Birthday to Tyler!!!
Then it was Trick-or-Treat time for the kids.  They had a blast running around the neighborhood, collecting candy from house to house.  Sean dressed as Lionel Messi, the standout soccer player from Barcelona and Alex went as a Sumo wrestler which was hilarious!
The cousins are ready to Trick-or-Treat!!!

Aunt Carla loved Alex's costume :)

Looking good, Messi!

We saw another kid dressed as a sumo wrestler so made the boys bump bellies!  Haha!

The girls!  Anyone see the peeper behind us!?!  LOL!

The kids also enjoyed Trick-or-Treating at Papa and Nana's house!
This about sums it up at the end of the night!
Well, soccer has officially ended and basketball will be starting.  The boys did awesome this season!  I had so much fun watching them play soccer and score goals!!!  Sean is a tenacious player and very aggressive.  He is super fast and has some incredible moves which makes him unstoppable!

Alex is really starting to understand the game a lot more.  He gets the ball to the open teammate, switches the field when he can and takes shots on goal if he has the opportunity.  He has a canon for a leg which is why he scored four out of the five goals in his last game.

What a great season Sean!!!

Such a fun season to watch!!!
I have to document Saturday night - We hired our very first babysitter for the boys.  My niece, Hailey, is in 8th grade and starting to babysit so we took her up on her offer and enjoyed a fun night out!  We think the world of my niece and know the kids are in good hands!!!  Thanks for being so responsible, Hailey, and such a wonderful role model to your cousins!
