Memorial Day Weekend

Our weekend was filled with family time, birthday parties and outdoor fun!  We celebrated Hailey and Logan turning 11 and 8 with a combo birthday party on Saturday.  The kids had so much fun playing together.  Then, on Sunday, the Brenton’s joined us for a bonfire complete with delicious S’mores and hide and seek tag!  I’m pretty sure our neighbors loved when 9:00 hit and it was time for the kiddos to quiet down and go to bed!

Memorial Day was spent outside soaking up the sun.  We got to see Grandpa & Grandma Michna for a little bit and hang out with Ann and Mark.  Then it off to Papa and Nana’s house for more birthday celebrations for Carla and Steve’s big 40thbirthday!  He didn’t want any surprises but that didn’t stop us from wrapping up 40 of his most favorite things!
Spot it with Ann and Mark!  So much fun!!!

Backyard Picnic

What a beautiful weekend!  We spent a lot of time outside enjoying the sunshine.  The boys couldn’t resist getting wet by running through the sprinkler and having squirt gun fights every chance they got.  We decided to spice up our lunch this afternoon so we took a nice long walk past the neighborhood ponds to the grocery store where we picked out some fun picnic foods.  Then we packed ourselves a lunch and enjoyed a picnic in our backyard.  So much fun!
We filled the rest of the weekend with baseball, kickball and soccer.  Alex was such a good big brother tonight as we were playing soccer.  Sean wanted to play against Alex and instead of being so competitive and trying to win, Alex was letting Sean score goals and teaching him some useful skills.  He was cheering for Sean and boosting his confidence.  I was so proud of him!

Weekend Fun

We had a fun girls night on Friday and took my Mom out for a late Mother's Day celebration.  Dinner and drinks followed by chocolate fondue at The Melting Pot.  YUM!  Always a good time with my favorite girls!

Then on Saturday, we went to a going away party for my cousin Theresa and her family because they are leaving for Malaysia in a month and will stay for a couple of years.  It's tropical and looks beautiful where they will be staying.  We will miss them while they are away but it will be an unforgettable experience!

Have fun and we wish you well Theresa!!!
We spent the rest of the weekend bundled up in hats and mittens as it barely reached 50 degrees.  Brrr!  I even saw some snowflakes on Saturday.  Isn't it the middle of May!?!

It was High Interest Day at school on Friday for Alex so he had a super fun day.  His sessions included Fishing, Tae Kwon Do, Camping and he got to watch a Magician perform some really cool tricks.  Such a neat day for the kids!
Having some fun with the remote control robot :)

Some Mario Kart action on the Wii.

Picked a flower for Mom today.  These two are the cutest and know the direct route to my heart!

GOLDEN Birthday!

Alex celebrated his GOLDEN birthday over the weekend and turned SEVEN on May 7th!  He had a fun-filled weekend of activities to celebrate with his friends and family.  Alex had a party with his friends on Saturday at the Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex.  The kids played a game of kickball and had a blast on the soccer field.  Then we continued the celebration on Sunday with family at our house.  We were so grateful for a beautiful day outside and the cousins ran around the yard all night having so much fun together!
Happy Golden Birthday Alex!

We celebrated Mother's Day at our house as well on Sunday and honored the most inspirational women in our life.  Our Moms have shaped us to be who we are today and we are so grateful for their selflessness and guidance.  We are truly learning from the BEST!!!

Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!
Forever spoiled with their love!!!  XOXO
