Fun New Toys

Alex has been keeping himself busy with all the fun, new toys he received for his birthday.  This boy likes to get his hands dirty!  He's also tried a taste of sand, bubbles and playdoh this past week.  How else will he learn!?!  He is a ball of energy and doesn't stop moving for a second!  He's quick too, especially for his pregnant Momma!  Alex is growing up so fast.  Yesterday, he disappeared on me and I found him in his bedroom with the door shut, sitting in the rocking chair, reading books to himself.  He just melts my heart!

Daddy set up the ramp so the cars fall right into Alex's dump truck.  So cool!

Weekend ReCap

May & June are the months of birthdays for my family.  On Saturday, we celebrated Hailey turning 6 years old on May 22nd and Logan turning 3 years old on June 1st.  We stuffed ourselves from the delicious taco bar they had and had a blast with everyone.  The kids even got to run off some energy outside in between rain drops.  On Sunday, the celebration continued for Hailey at Stonefire Pizza on her actual birthday.  The kids had so much fun playing the games and winning prizes.  Happy Birthday to little Miss Hailey and our precious Godson, Logan!

Some bonding time for the boy cousins!

The birthday boy showing off his new SWAT gear...just like Daddy!

Hailey was our big winner at Stonefire Pizza and won 100 tickets on just one game!

Logan and Daddy racing on the motorcycle.

Alex had to give the "cycle" a try too.
On Sunday, I went to church with my parents at Blessed Trinity (formally Holy Redeemer) where my dad attended grade school as a kid.  My parents just celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on May 18th and were married at Holy Redeemer.  They haven't been back in 35 years but we found out the parish is closing next month so wanted to see it one last time.  The church looked beautiful inside.
At the alter 37 years later...
I had a checkup for Baby M on Thursday.  I'm 28 weeks along so also had my glucose test done too.  Everything looks great.  The baby's heartbeat was 150 and I'm measuring a little ahead of schedule at this point.  The baby has been very active for me and Daddy has been able to feel it's movements a lot too.  We'll have to start working on the baby's room real soon!

PARTY!

The Alex Man is officially two years old and enjoyed a super fun party with all his aunts, uncles and cousins.  The hopes of being able to sit outside with 40+ people at our house was far from reality.  Afterall, it is Wisconsin.  But we survived inside and Alex had a blast getting spoiled by everyone.  He received so many nice gifts - lots of bubbles, cars, pajamas, coloring supplies, play dough, sand toys, nerf gun, race tracks, Mr. Potato Head, lots of clothes for summer including a Big Bro shirt, a cozy coupe and a Mercedes Benz.  That's right - his very own Mercedes!  He'll be riding in style this summer!!  It was precious to watch the excitement in his eyes all day long.  Happy 2nd Birthday, little man.  We love you so much:)
Blowing out the candle on his race car cake!

Black frosting was not a good choice for the cake.

Carla and Hailey among many with black tongues and black teeth!

Cars, cars and more cars!  Alex is one lucky boy!!

2 Year Checkup:

Alex went in to the see the doctor for his 2 year checkup. He now weighs 28lbs 6.5ozs and is 35.25 inches long. He didn't have any shots done but the nurse did have to prick Alex's finger to get some blood. Alex didn't shed one tear but instead yelled, "Mama, Daddy, Papa, Nana!" and kept repeating. Then he thanked the nurse:) We did find out that Alex has tonsils the size of "golf balls." They don't seem to be bothering Alex just yet, but we will most likely be taking those out this summer.

Happy Mother's Day!

I'll never forget my first Mother's Day - It was just three days after Alex was born.  There's nothing more rewarding...ask any Mom out there!  It's a job that goes unappreciated many times but SO worth it.  I don't think you can fully grasp what it takes to be a Mom until you become one yourself.  Hopefully I have shown my Mom and Mother-in-Law how much I appreciate them in my life because they are truly wonderful!!

Dave was out of town coaching baseball for most of the day but made sure he pampered me in the short time he saw me with some Mother's Day gifts and a much needed back massage!  We went over to Steve & Jenny's house in the afternoon where we all enjoyed a delicious Mother's Day dinner.  Thanks for hosting!  It was a good time as usual and nice to be able to wish all the Moms a Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!  You're the best!!

My sweet, Godson, Logan:)

Alex turns TWO!

On Saturday, Alex officially turned 2 years old.  He definitely knew it was his special day, especially since I had been talking about his birthday for several days leading up to it.  When asked how old he is now, he promptly responds "TWO" and holds up two fingers in a "L" shape.  Too cute.  We met his cousins and some friends at Kids in Motion in the afternoon and let the kids run wild and then came back to our house for pizza and cupcakes to celebrate Alex's big day.  He was spoiled all day long and had the time of his life!  The birthday celebration will continue next weekend with a party for Alex with his extended family - Can't wait!
