Winter Fun!

We've been having some winter fun the past few days to unwind from Christmas.  We went to Jump Zone with Hailey, Logan, Tyler & Anna on Wednesday.  The cousins had a blast together.  Then we had some fun in the snow this afternoon followed by a movie night in our pajamas!

Seanie LOVED getting pulled on his sled.

Alex joined the sledding fun too!

Alex had to try out the slippery slide!

Christmas

It’s been a whirl wind the past few days in celebrating Christmas but we are so grateful to have been surrounded by our loving and extremely generous family! Alex and Sean were spoiled with presents, treats and, most of all, attention and love from everybody!!

We started our celebration at Grandpa & Grandma Beyer’s house on Christmas Eve.  The cousins couldn’t wait to start unwrapping the gazillion gifts that were spread all over.  Seanie dove right into the gift opening and Alex was having so much fun that he didn’t want it to end.

Christmas morning was so much fun with the boys.  The pure joy and excitement on their faces when they see that Santa came is the most gratifying reward as a parent.  We spent the morning in our pajamas unwrapping presents and playing with all the new toys.

Santa came!

Alex's number one request for Santa was a Bango bobblehead!
Seanie's favorite gift is his very own vacuum!!

Havin' fun with all the new toys on Christmas morning.

Givin' Tow Mater a little ride!

Then we headed over to Grandpa & Grandma Michna’s house and Alex & Sean were spoiled even more.  Grandma made a wonderful meal for us and we spent the afternoon relaxing and enjoying family time.  We ended our night at Uncle Paul and Aunt Pat’s house for more Christmas cheer and we were happy to see my cousin, Theresa and her husband, Antoine, made the drive from Atlanta.  What a great Christmas!

Sledding

We buddled up and went to Rainbow Park on Saturday with cousins, Hailey & Logan, to have some sledding fun with all the snow that fell. Alex had never been sledding outside of a bunny hill at our house so I was excited for him to try it out. I thought there would be more hand holding along the way but Uncle Steve didn’t waste any time. The next thing I know, Alex is getting pushed down the big hill all by himself. He looked a bit timid at first and, I’m not gonna lie, I was nervous for him and praying he didn’t flip over or get hurt to ruin the experience. But once he landed safely at the bottom, he jumped up with excitement and went down again and again and again.

Lovin' the snow!

Alex & Logan, best buds :)

Alex checking out the first snow of the winter!

Alex knows the ornaments are off limits so he'll say to his little brother, "Seanie, touch the ornaments!"  which is then followed by giggles and usually ends in Sean handing me yet another ornament pulled from the tree!

4 nights in a row...

I hope I don’t jinx this wonderful streak, but Alex went to bed in his undies and woke up dry for 4 nights in a row now. Yay! He had an interesting conversation with Daddy 4 days ago and Alex basically said that he wets at night because he has a diaper on. So…we thought we’d test the theory and see if that was true. So far so good! I couldn’t be prouder!!

We had a fun weekend and celebrated Papa Geno’s 60th birthday on Friday night. Thanks for letting us help blow out your candles, Grandpa! We also decorated Christmas cookies, did a little shopping and watched some wonderful Christmas movies to get us in the holiday spirit. Our elf, Buddy, has been keeping a close eye on everybody in the Michna house and the boys are counting down the days until Santa Claus and his reindeer visit us!

Happy 60th Birthday, Papa Geno!

Santa Claus...

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus made an appearance at Grandma Michna’s work this weekend so we were able to enjoy a yummy breakfast and the boys were able to say hi to Santa. Alex hopped right up on Santa’s lap and told him all about the bobbleheads he wanted for Christmas. Seanie just wanted to have the run of the place so he was more content in Daddy’s arms. Santa gave Alex & Sean a stocking filled with treats and toys for being such good boys this year and Alex even wrote a letter to Santa so we are anxiously awaiting his response. Thanks for inviting us, Grandma! We had a great time!!

The Wilderness

We got away this past weekend and took a mini-vacation to The Wilderness Hotel in the Dells where the boys had a blast at the indoor water parks.  Alex loved every bit of it and I even talked him into trying out some really big water slides.  He had to go all by himself and he absolutely loved them so went down again and again and cheered for himself each time!  I was so proud of him!  Seanie was a little fish and had so much fun playing with the water fountains that bubbled up from the ground.  It wouldn’t phase him a bit to stick his face over one and look up and smile.  I even took Seanie down one of the slides on my nap and he seemed to like it, despite fighting naptime and being very tired.  What a great way to spend a cold, winter weekend but in our bathing suits!  We all had a super fun time and can’t wait to go back!
We ate at Buffalo Phil's where they delivered our food to the table on a choo-choo train!
