The Big 3-0

Carla hit the big 3-0 mark yesterday. We celebrated over the weekend with the perfectly planned surprise party. The first part of her surprise was at dinner where family and relatives were waiting. The second surprise came when we went back to the house for birthday cake and her closest friends were there to surprise her. Happy Birthday, Carla! Hope you enjoyed your special day! You have such an exciting year ahead!!

Hailey Turns 4

My niece, Hailey, turned 4 on Friday. We celebrated her birthday at Stone Fire Pizza and she had a ball. I think her favorite was the do-it-yourself face painting. Hailey's birthday celebration continued on Saturday with a party. More fun and more presents - what else could a four-year-old want! We all enjoyed the good food and great company. Happy Birthday Miss Hailey! You're such a joy to watch!!

Alex hadn't been gaining much weight this past week so the doctor had us supplementing some formula, in addition to the nursing. He had a weight check yesterday and gained 7 ounces in two days! Yeah!! So we're back to just nursing again. He's still sleeping really well for us during the night (and during the day). He sleeps anywhere and at anytime.

Day 10

Alex is 10 days old already, I can't believe it! He's changing every day and time seems to be flying by. He's been such a good baby for us so far. He usually sleeps 3-4 hours during the night before his next feeding. He's eating pretty well; although the pediatrician would like to see him gain some more weight in the next few days. Alex has discovered his hands this past week and if you don't watch out, he might knock you out!

A Special Mother's Day

Alex was born just in time to make Mother's Day a special one for me. I couldn't have asked for a better present. I have a whole new appreciation for mothers; my mom especially. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and mother-to-be's celebrating their day.

It's a Boy!!

Alexander Robert Michna arrived on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 5:01PM. Alex weighed 7lb 15oz and he was 21 inches long. He was a week past the due date but he was definitely worth the wait! Everyone's healthy and happy!!
