Helfaer Field

Alex was lucky enough to play at Helfaer Field this month with his U9 New Berlin Magic team.  What a neat experience for the the boys!  They all feel like super stars on that field with Miller Park majestically sitting in the background.  Such a fun afternoon of baseball and Alex had quite the fan club at his game!  Thanks to all that came to root the boys on to victory!

 Alex's team finished another tournament this month in 1st place at Wirth Park in Brookfield.  That makes it the fifth tournament this year as champions.  That's a pretty incredible accomplishment for these boys!  Their camaraderie is unmatched and is the reason why they are so successful.  Way to go boys!  A well-deserved championship!

 Sean's baseball season came to an end as well this month.  He did amazing and it was so much fun to watch him grow and improve.  He gets the game and wants to be a part of every play making outs.  He made quite a few great plays and stepped it up as a leader on his team.  Can't wait to see what the future holds for this kid!

4th of July Celebration

I'm trying to play catch up on my blog posts.  The Fourth of July was a blast and filled with parties, festivals, parades, fireworks, good food and great friends!  We spent time at the Malone Park festival and ran into some friends.  We tried our luck on some games and a few rides.  The new favorite activity was the flash light candy hunt in the dark.

We switched things up this year and went to the Brookfield parade with our cousins instead of Tosa.  It was a hot one but only an hour.  The kids had fun squirting water guns back at the parade goers!  Then it was off to the New Berlin parade where Alex and Dave walked in it with his Magic baseball team.  At this point, a tub of ice cubes was about the only thing that could cool us down!

We made visits to Grandpa and Grandma Michna's house and then Papa and Nana's house before ending the night with a fireworks display at Malone Park.  A day filled with so many fun, summer activities to celebrate the Fourth of July!

Baseball Tourney in Schaumberg, IL

The U9 New Berlin Magic traveled south to Schaumberg, IL for a baseball tournament last week and finished first place on one of the hottest weekends of the summer!  Dave's truck said it was 100 degrees and that was for the 9:00 AM game.  Luckily, the boys played so well that we won our two games quick on Saturday and could get out of the heat.  Plus, there was the incentive of the hotel pool that fired the boys up to score a lot of runs!!!

This team is special.  Everyone gets along so well.  They look out for one another on and off the field which is why this group of boys have been so successful this season!  The siblings were troopers in the heat and they were all so supportive.  The parents had an absolute blast as well.  What a fun, HOT, weekend of baseball with a pretty incredible group of people.

We went to a restaurant called GameWorks at the Woodfield Mall.  We had dinner and then we had an hour of arcade games.  We took over the place and had a great time!  On the way out, the boys stopped to dance to the music playing outside.  They were in unison to the different dance moves.  We captured a video of it too which is hilarious.  We burned off some energy and then it was back to the hotel for more swimming!

 We had two more games on Sunday and won both to win the championship.  We didn't think they would play their best as we stayed up late and swam until 11:00 PM with their eyes full of chlorine but they all proved us wrong!  We beat the storm until the ride home.  Such a fun tournament!
