Circus Time!

I can't remember the last time I was at the Circus but we decided to take Alex and Sean and see what it was all about.  Truthfully, I think I was the most excited for the entertainment but we all ended up having a great time!  Each one of us had our favorite part of the show.  So much talent to watch including the acrobats dangling from the ceiling, the animals and their tricks, the amazing jugglers and Sean's favorite - the man that shot out of the cannon!  Yikes!

Oh what a difference a week makes in Wisconsin!  From 70 degree weather to snow flurries and 20 degree weather in just a week.  February has been unpredictable!

February

Oh, how I am lovin' February and this warm weather!  We were outside all weekend pretending it was spring!  We went on bike rides and took a walk to the park...and we were in short sleeves in February!  Dad and the boys had off on Friday so spent the afternoon at the Zoo checking out the animals.  Alex had his friend, Timmy, over for a playdate and they rotated between playing basketball, baseball and kickball all day.  I'm hoping we don't see any more snow until December!

Catholic Schools Week

This past week was one of our favorite weeks at school for Alex and Sean.  It was Catholic Schools Week and each day was filled with so many fun activities.  On Monday, the whole school went on a field trip to St. John’s Cathedral and then enjoyed an afternoon of bowling.  Alex was the only second grader to be picked to read one of the petitions in church.  His teacher said he has the loudest and clearest voice so her choice was easy!  I forgot how big and beautiful that church was inside.  Alex had a few butterflies in his stomach that morning but I heard he did a fantastic job!

On Tuesday, it was pajama day and the kids enjoyed making pancakes in their classroom and playing games in the cafeteria.  Next came Wacky Wednesday and then spirit day on Thursday with a super fun pep rally in the gym led by the 8th graders!

There was also a Talent Show on Thursday and Alex signed up to do a Magic Show.  The list came out of performers and it went like this…piano, singing, piano, singing, piano, singing, dance, singing, piano, singing and then…MAGICIAN!!!  He was definitely one-of-a-kind!

We practiced all week in getting his tricks just right.  He had six great magic tricks that he perfected!  He was nervous to get up on stage in front of everybody but he was excited too.  The audience was engaged and awed by his tricks.  They laughed and clapped.  He did a fantastic job and I was so incredibly proud of him!!!

Alex helped celebrate Trent's birthday on Saturday at the bowling alley with his classmates.  We also had some fun getting ready for the Super Bowl game on Sunday with some games of our own including a competitive game of cookie stacking!

Happy Birthday Papa!!!

We celebrated Grandpa Beyer's birthday a little early and had a such a fun time as usual.  The cousins always have an incredible time together.  They are all so different in their own way but they all get along so well together.  They truly are like best friends!

Happy Birthday to you, Papa!  We look up to you in so many ways.  You are loved and adored by all of us!  We are blessed beyond words!  XOXO

Crazy game of Hot Potato!
We just HAD to take advantage of the warmer weather last weekend.  It felt wonderful to be outside in January with just sweatshirts on and not be cold.  The boys played some baseball with Dad and we were able to go on a family bike ride.  I could get used to this weather!!  Is it spring yet?!

We had to go check out Miss Anna and her cheerleading.  She was the loudest one and the cutest!!!

Anna, you look adorable!!!
Dad brought home the largest apple we have ever seen!  It weighed 1.65 lbs.  Needless to say, it was our snack to share for the entire family last night.

Basketball / Star Student

Alex started his basketball season back in December and picked it up again after the New Year.  He seems to really enjoy it and his ability has improved exponentially from last year.  His strength is his defense and his height doesn't hurt.  He's scoring more baskets this year too which is fun to watch!
DEFENSE!!!

He shoots!  He scores!!!

This kid has skills!
Sean was Star Student last week in 4K.  We worked hard on putting together a poster to show the class and I was lucky enough to help out in the classroom that day to see him present.  He did so great and wasn't shy at all.  He talked about all the cool pictures and some of his favorite things.   He enjoyed being line leader and having special duties in the classroom all week.  His teachers raved about his at conferences and said everyone wants to be Sean's friend because he's so nice and likeable.  His favorite activity in class is the art center and brings home some pretty spectacular drawings!
STAR STUDENT

Alex has been working hard on his social studios project this past week.  He has to present his project on the state of Louisiana.  He's learned a lot of little history fun facts about the state from his history lovin' Dad so hopefully he can present in a fun and educational way!

The Packers are hanging in there for at least one more week!  Such an exciting game!!!

Happy New Year!

Alex and Sean had a fun and relaxing week off for Christmas break.  It was a much needed break from the school routine for everybody including me!  Dave enjoyed his time off as well and took the boys to Chuck E Cheese and Fun Timez to burn off some energy!

Holy Apostles sponsored a Rolling Skate night for the school so the boys laced up their skates and tried rolling skating for the very first time.  It didn't look pretty!  The boys were on their butts a lot more than on their feet.  Alex threw in the towel after a few times around the rink.  Sean started to get the hang of it but didn't love it.  We ended up doing a lot more socializing than skating but that was okay.  Maybe next year for the skating...

We took the boys to their very first Milwaukee Wave game for New Years Eve.  We had such a great time.   A lot of goals were scored and the Wave ended up winning so it was an exciting game!  We were home in time to enjoy a yummy steak dinner and sparkling wine juice to ring in the New Year!
First Wave game for these two!
