Trick or Treat...

It was fun to watch Alex participate more in Halloween this year. We had our annual Halloween party at his daycare with the other kids and their parents. It was pretty windy and cold but the kids made it to a few houses for some candy! Then on Sunday, Alex's cousins joined him for more trick or treating in our new neighborhood. They had a blast running from house to house. Alex tried to mooch a few extra pieces of candy from each person so he didn't quite get the concept but at least he politely said "thank you" as they filled his pumpkin.

Tyler's One!

We celebrated Tyler's 1st birthday with a big bash at the Brenton house. He's gone through a lot with all his medical appointments this past year but he couldn't be a healthier and more energetic little boy. He was a trooper all day long and LOVED all the attention! He cracked me up at the end of the party when his sugar high kicked in and was pushing Hailey and Logan all over the house on his new riding toy (just like Alex did at his 1st birthday party). We had a GREAT time celebrating Ty's birthday with him and look forward to what the next year brings! Happy 1st Birthday little guy!! We love you:)

I'm so happy to report that my little Alex Man is back to his old self again. He's been under the weather for the last week and REALLY not himself at all. But his molars on finally in which was a huge factor and I think he's finally adjusting to our new home. He's never been more playful and we're enjoying every moment of our happy little boy!!

Off to the park..

It was a beautiful fall day so we took advantage and went to the nearby park in our neighborhood. Alex wasn't feeling good all weekend which was a bummer but it was good to get him some fresh air. It's fun to explore our new neighborhood and we came across some cool trails that led to a pond. Alex finally let loose and had some fun throwing rocks with Daddy. Hopefully our little man will get his spunk back tomorrow!

Pumpkin Patch

It didn't feel like autumn with the weather in the 80s but we took Alex to the pumpkin farm for some October fun. There was plenty to do including pony rides, train rides, hay rides, bounce houses, a corn maze and more. We couldn't fit it all in so I'm sure we'll be back. Alex's cousins joined us for the fun and we all enjoyed the hayride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out our favorite pumpkin to take home. It was a fun way to kick off the fall season!

We're Moved!

I should be unpacking right now but I am too exhausted. Our move went great and a big thanks to all of our helpers! We are somewhat "settled in" or as much as we can be after 2 days. We love our new home and we already feel comfortable! Alex seems to be going through a little adjustment period but he loves all the space to run and he slept awesome in his new room last night. It was a long and stressful process but we're excited to finally be moved. We're looking forward to all the wonderful memories we will have here as a family!

One week to go...

We're on the official countdown to moving day. Our house is boxed up and looking pretty empty. It's kinda depressing, actually, to look around at the bare walls and boxes everywhere. But we're getting closer...just one more week of this craziness! Woohoo!! Alex knows something's going on and is confused by all the boxes. But he's using them to his advantage to climb on, sit in and store his trucks so he's happy.
.
He's definitely turning into a big boy these days. He's talking a lot and tries to repeat words after us. He can nail some hard words like "squirrel" and 2-3 word phrases like "lawn mower" and "I love you." He's a smart little guy and knows just what he wants. He can't always say it but he shows us by bringing us our shoes when he wants to go outside or pounding the cabinet door where we keep his sippy cups to tell us he's thirsty. But when we can't figure out what the Alex Man wants, that's when he gets mad and throws his fit. It's frustrating for both of us at times! He's such an easy-going toddler and finds a way to lighten things up in the house when we start getting stressed with the move.

Kids in Motion

Alex had a play date with his friend, Lauren, at a new place in New Berlin called Kids in Motion. They had SO much fun and we will definitely be back! They had a common play area in the middle of the room with a great big soft play structure which was perfect for our kids and allowed the parents to climb on too. There were individual themed rooms around the perimeter of the room which included a construction room and was Alex's favorite. But what really got the kids jumping was the bubble machine that went off every 20 minutes. No matter where you were or what you were doing, all the kids went flying over to jump through the bubbles. It was pretty funny to watch!

I'm all about the trucks, Mom! Just leave me here all day.
