Wisconsin Dells

We took a family vacation to Wisconsin Dells for Valentine's Day weekend.  Our goal was to take a fun, mini-vacation to get away from our everyday winter routine for a weekend and we did just that.  We stayed at Mount Olympus where they had both an indoor water park and theme park for us.  Alex was at the perfect age to enjoy it all.  We had such a fun time together.  Everything was new to Alex and Dave & I enjoyed watching him smile all weekend long.  It was just what we needed and one of the best trips we've taken in a long time!

Taking a break from the water to warm up a bit.

Riding the dolphin at the theme park.  Alex also rode the tea cups and trolley with Mommy.  He's more of a dare-devil than his Daddy is!

Playing in the balls!

We got dippin' dots for Alex to try and he literally sat back in his chair, closed his eyes and opened his mouth nice and wide so we could shovel them in.  This sums up the weekend - Alex was treated like a King!

Skee-ball just his size.  Go for the 50s on top Alex!

Alex LOVED the baby slide!  I think we wore out the steps leading up to it!

Haircut / Birthday / Snowfall

Alex was due for a haircut so we took him to a little place in Tosa called Whimsikidz which is a salon just for kids and perfect for toddlers.  Alex was a little squirmy at first so sat on Daddy's lap and played with fun toys to get him through it.  The stylist was great and gave my little boy a handsome new cut.

Snip, snip, snip...

What a handsome little boy!
We all went to Grandpa and Grandma Beyer's for pizza and cake to celebrate Papa's birthday last week.  The cousins were rambunctious as ever and we loved the entertainment all night!  I can't believe we'll be adding two more to the bunch this summer!  Nana is not so sure she can handle two more boys in the group as they seem to give her most of her scares with their endless amount of energy!  Miss Hailey is also praying for at least one girl to give her some boy relief!

I think Logan & Alex are going to be double-trouble someday!!

Snuggles from Miss Hailey:)

We had a beautiful, fluffy snowfall today and it was finally warm enough to bundle Alex up and take him outside to enjoy some fun in the snow. Santa brought him a new sled for Christmas and we hadn't even opened it until today. We were somewhat limited to the driveway since the snow was so high everywhere else that we sunk in up to our waist in some areas. Alex especially had fun when we brought out some of his summer toys which he has missed big time!

Faster Daddy!  I don't care if the snow is up to your knees!

Alex has been eating oranges like crazy lately.  Except he usually just sucks a little juice out of each slice and then hands it over to me to finish eating.  Yesterday morning, we went through three oranges.  At least we're getting our Vitamin C!
What a silly boy!!  He cracks us up with the stunts he pulls!!

Baby Update / Random Pics

We had another doctor visit for the baby and everything checks out good once again.  The baby's heart beat was about 145 which might make one think a boy is on the way according to the old wives tale.  But I guess we will have to wait until August to see if that proves true!

Alex has been just as fun as ever, although battling a little cold at the moment.  It's amazing how much he learns in a day and his vocabulary keeps on building.  He's starting to learn his numbers.  He's got two and three down pat but he usually follows it up with a "go" and takes off somewhere.  He's been a pickier eater lately which has been frustrating but it doesn't look like the kid will fade away anytime soon so we're not too worried.  He's a ball of energy and loves to chase Daddy around the house and get into tickle wars with him.

Nice hair!

It's about time...

...we share our exciting news!  Alex will become a big brother on or around August 8th.  I'm about 12 weeks along so almost through the first trimester.  I've been feeling pretty good so far.  A few weeks of continued quesiness and I'm still feeling tired.  I've been going to bed right after Alex around 8:00-8:30 and sometimes even beating him to bed!  Hopefully that won't last too much longer as I look forward to my personal time at night to get my own stuff done.

Dave and I are both so thrilled to have another little one on the way.  We saw the doctor already and everything looks good.  Reality sunk in when we saw our baby moving its legs and arms around on the ultrasound screen.  Alex is still too young to understand but when we ask him to give the baby kisses, he will kiss Mommy's belly.  He's going to be such a loving big brother!

We shared the news to our parents on Christmas with a personalized ornament:

More exciting news!  It's about time the Packers made another Super Bowl appearance.  Thanks to Rob and Carla for having us over for the game.  It was a nail-biter at the end but the Pack pulled through and made us proud!  What a fun win!!  Bring on those Steelers!

Two Sick Boys

We've been battling some sickness in our household the last week or so.  Dave came down with a case of bronchitis so he took off of work the last couple of days to recoop and gain his voice back.  Alex has had diarrhea for the last couple of days so we've been going through a lot of diapers, wipes and baths!  Luckily, he is still eating okay and his tummy bug doesn't seem to be affecting his daily activities.  Here's to hoping for a quick recovery from my boys and hopefully I can steer clear of it all!

Dinner at the Beyer's

Grandpa and Grandma Beyer had us all over for dinner on Saturday as a post-Christmas celebration to see their tree and train since we didn't make it there for Christmas this year.  It was a great time, as usual, and a terrific meal.  The cousins all loved the tent/tunnel that Grandpa and Grandma bought for them.  They had some playful wrestling going on too.  It wouldn't be a cousin get-together without some romping!

Ty Ty checking out the tunnel.

Miss Hailey became a Daisy this year and gave us her girlscout cookie sales pitch.  She already met her cookie goal after leaving Grandpa and Grandma's house.  Way to go, Hailey!

Ringing in the New Year!

We went to Steve and Jen's on Saturday for New Year's Eve and had so much fun.  Alex had a ball with all the kids and we had fun enjoying good company and great food.  Hailey and Logan received the Wii for Christmas so there was some battling going on all night.  Plus the kids were pretty revved up all night from sugar highs so they had some battling of their own going on with Uncle Steve.  We were able to watch the first ball drop at 11:00 and that's as long as Alex lasted until we had to head home but Dave and I toasted at midnight with a smooch.  Happy New Year, Everyone!!
Awe, cousin hugs for Logan and Alex!
