Strong and Vigorous

Carla and Tyler had a very rough labor and delivery and, as a result, Tyler was admitted to the NICU at St. Joe's on Thursday morning. He has had low blood sugar levels and experienced a couple of seizures in the days following his delivery. The seizures were caused by blood that was found in his spinal fluid. The overall stress of the delivery caused the blood in his spinal fluid and also caused him to have low blood sugar. He will continue to stay at St. Joe's in the NICU through next week, if not longer, for additional testing and observation. Tyler's neurologist said that he was a vigorous and strong baby and the overall big picture looked good which was great news! Tyler is in good hands with the many wonderful doctors and nurses continuing to monitor his progress. Please keep Rob, Carla and Tyler in your prayers. We hope Tyler will be healthy enough to go home real soon!

It's a Boy!!

Rob & Carla welcomed Tyler John Brenton into the world yesterday at 7:02 pm. He was 8lb 2oz and 21 inches long. He is such a handsome little boy! Sorry, though, you'll have to wait for Mom and Dad Brenton to post the first pictures. Look for updates on their blog at www.rjbcmbmiracle.blogspot.com.

Trick or Treat

Our daycare had a Halloween party for the kids tonight. Sharon made us a wonderful dinner and it was great to socialize with the other parents. The kids even got to go trick or treating to a few houses in the neighborhood which was fun. Alex was a good trooper but I think he might enjoy his experience a little better next year when he can actually eat the candy and not have to share it with Mom and Dad.

Fall Fun

It was so beautiful outside today that we decided to take Alex to the pumpkin patch. He went to the pumpkin farm with the daycare kids and brought home a cute little pumpkin which we still have to carve yet. Alex was so curious and way overstimulated with everything from the pumpkins and hay stacks to the animals they had there to pet. Not too many activities for a 6 month old except posing for cute pictures so enjoy!

This pumpkin is bigger than me!

Yum, I think we should make a pumpkin pie with this one!

This one is just my size!

My First Halloween

Still Waiting...

We've made it to the official due date and no baby yet! Mom and Dad Brenton are anxiously waiting. Alex had to cuddle with Baby Brenton in Aunt Carla's arms one last time.

Aunt Carla, you are going to be such a good Mommy! Love, Alex

Adding some flavor!

Alex tried out some rice cereal for the first time today and he really liked the whole process. He sits with us at the table while we eat and is memorized by what we're doing so it's not surprising to see him get so excited when we put the spoon in his hand for him to try. He never seems satisfied after his bottle so hopefully introducing rice cereal will do the trick.
Wait, Daddy! One last lick!!

Yummy, this stuff is tasty!

All cleaned up and ready for my pjs.

Look at my balancing act. Next, I'll show you how I can juggle!

Such a happy guy!
