My Baby Turns One!

I can't believe May 7th is here already! One year ago, Alex entered this world and changed our lives forever. It's been an exciting year celebrating all his firsts and rewarding watching our little man grow and change everyday, developing his own goofy personality. He's our little love that makes us smile every day and we're so blessed to have him in our lives.

My baby is growing up WAY too fast and it kinda made me sad this morning thinking about it. But I was excited too, of course, to celebrate the special day with my little Alex Man! I don't think we could have crammed any more fun into our day. We took Alex to the Betty Brinn Museum in the afternoon. He had SO much fun exploring! We let him run loose and he's definitely not timid around the other kids.

Yeaaaaah! It's my birthday today!!

Alex had on his "Birthday Boy" shirt at the Betty Brinn Museum. He started playing with Cath, who had on her "Birthday Girl" shirt. Both turned 1 year old today. Their shirts were too funny!!

We returned home to get a quick nap in for the birthday boy and then it was off to Monkey Joes where Alex met up with his cousins for more fun. Alex was still a little small for most of the inflatables but he did love the big slide that we took him down on our laps. I don' t know about the kids but I was sure exhausted when we left! Alex was starting to poop out on us but we made one final stop at Kopps for a scoop of custard and that made for the perfect ending to a perfect day for the birthday boy! Happy Birthday, Sweet Alex!! We love you!

1st Birthday Bash!

We celebrated Alex's 1st birthday a little early and had a pre-birthday party on Saturday with all his family & friends. Alex was in his glory and loved having the spotlight on him. He received so many nice gifts from everyone. He was polite when it came to his smash cake. He dove in with both hands and smeared his face but that was about it. I envisioned it to be a lot messier! All the kids played so well together. The fun really began once the sugar rush from the cake kicked in. Alex was pushing his cousin, Hailey, around on his new fire truck and they were cracking up uncontrollably. It was hilarious to watch!

Snip, Snip...

We weren't quite sure if Alex was ready for his very first haircut but we thought a little trim-up was needed. His hair was getting a bit shaggy in back and Dave wouldn't allow me to take the scissors to Alex's hair so we took him to A Hair For Kids Salon this afternoon. The place was designed for little kids and had TVs and toys to help entertain. Alex got to sit in a race car during his haircut and was such a good boy. The stylist was great too and gave him just the trim-up he needed!

This was pretty much his look the entire time!

Enjoying some fresh air...

I'm so excited that Alex will be able to enjoy all the fun things that come along with summer this year - swimming pool, sand box, playgrounds and swings. Last year, Alex was still just a baby so we did a lot of stroller walks and hanging out at home. We're taking advantage of the nice weather outside and Alex is lovin' every minute of it. He's a true boy at heart that loves to explore and get dirty. I think he's tried a few bugs already too (on Daddy's supervision, of course)!

Always such a happy little guy!

11 Months Old!

Our sweet little Alex is 11 months old today. He's officially taken his first steps this past week which makes us very proud parents. He usually does it out of excitement and doesn't really know what he's doing yet but he's gaining confidence every day.

Alex is full of energy and always smiling. He loves to be around us and follows us wherever we go in the house. He's a nosey little thing and likes to explore each room which is why you will find all the doors closed in our house. Alex still gets his fruits and veggies but he absolutely loves table food and strawberries seems to be his fav at the moment. He loves when we chase him around the house. Just by giving him a look, he'll grin from ear to ear and take off down the hallway to his room. Alex is such a riot to be around!

Happy Easter!

Alex's first Easter was an enjoyable one! The Easter Bunny was especially good to him this year with a great big basket filled with fun toys. Alex and his cousins took part in another easter egg hunt at Grandpa and Grandma Beyer's house. He especially liked the eggs that had money inside and made lots of noise when he shook them. We had delicious food and great company all day long. Thanks for making Easter so special for us!!

Happy Easter to Grandpa and Grandma Michna who are basking in the Florida sun. We missed you this year! Have a fun trip!!

The HUNT is on...

...rain or shine! The weather didn't keep Alex from participating in his very first Easter Egg Hunt. He took part in the "crawler" hunt and scored some great pieces of candy for us. Hailey and Logan joined us too and showed Alex how it's done. They did great and were really good sports all morning despite the rain. The Easter Bunny even braved the weather and came out to say hello. Happy Easter, everyone!
